Bit Sentinel has further solidified regional cybersecurity defense by hosting a high-stakes, hybrid Capture the Flag (CTF) competition at the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 in Chișinău, on 12-13 May. Powered by Bit Sentinel’s advanced cyber range platform, CyberEDU, the hands-on event challenged over 100 critical infrastructure experts and students from Romania and Moldova with real-world scenarios built on current threats and vulnerabilities. By transforming strategic regional commitments into concrete, cross-border actions, the forum underscored a vital truth for the modern digital landscape: true cybersecurity resilience is practiced, tested, and earned together.
Live cybersecurity competition, powered by Bit Sentinel at the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026
Bit Sentinel recently led the technical organization for the Capture the Flag (CTF) exercise during the Resilient Trident 2026. This trilateral event, organized by The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate – DNSC, the National Cyber Security Coordination Center under the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine (NCSCC), and Moldova Cybersecurity Agency (ASC), united Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine under the Cyber Alliance for Regional Resilience.
This strong regional collaboration continued seamlessly at the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026. On May 12-13 in Chișinău, Bit Sentinel brought this momentum to life through its learning platform CyberEDU, which hosted a hybrid Capture the Flag exercise at the heart of the event. Designed for critical infrastructure experts and students from both Romania and Moldova, the CTF scenarios were built on real incidents, current threats, and actual vulnerabilities – drawing directly on Bit Sentinel’s hands-on expertise across pentesting, incident response, SOC operations, and critical infrastructure protection.
Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 was organized by Moldova Cybersecurity Agency (ASC) and the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization of the Republic of Moldova, in collaboration with the National Institute of Innovations in Cybersecurity “Cybercor” and with the support of Innovate Moldova (financed by Sweden and the UK), EUPM Moldova – European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova, The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate & DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance, sponsored by the Government of Italy & UNDP Moldova.
The forum gathered industry leaders, government institutions, and cybersecurity experts to transform strategic commitments into concrete actions.
From commitment to action: the core of cybersecurity in 2026
The theme of this year’s edition, “Regional Cyber Defense: From Commitment to Action,” aligns perfectly with our mission at Bit Sentinel: that regional cybersecurity resilience isn’t declared – it’s practiced, tested, and earned together. In an era where threats transcend borders, simple theoretical frameworks no longer suffice. Protection of critical assets requires a hands-on approach and a unified regional defense mechanism.

The Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 served as a discussion hub and acted as a catalyst for resilience across the European ecosystem. By participating in this event, Bit Sentinel emphasizes the importance of regional synergy. We believe that true security stems from shared knowledge and the rapid implementation of defense protocols.
This forum provided two days of intensive dialogue, focused on the development of effective mechanisms to protect the digital economy and state infrastructure. Beyond the technical exercises, the day created space for substantive discussions with high-level representatives from Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and other invited countries. Conversations focused heavily on how to better cooperate on capacity-building initiatives across the region, and how Bit Sentinel’s own experience in developing cyber talent, training environments, and operational readiness can contribute to that shared effort.
Reflecting on the impact of this collaboration and the strategic direction of the industry, Andrei Avădănei, CEO of Bit Sentinel, shared his insights:
“Building on the lessons of Resilient Trident, conversations at the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 focused on how we can better cooperate on capacity-building initiatives across the region. Seeing professionals and the next generation from Moldova and Romania, two nations that share far more than a border, competing on the same scenarios is exactly the kind of environment we believe builds real regional resilience. And when those scenarios are inspired by real incidents, current threats, and actual vulnerabilities, the message becomes clear: the challenges facing this part of Europe don’t recognize borders, and neither does our commitment to addressing them together.”
Bit Sentinel powers practical cybersecurity skill testing through CyberEDU
A highlight of our involvement at the Moldova Cybersecurity Forum 2026 was the Jeopardy-style Capture The Flag (CTF) exercise. Bit Sentinel organised and hosted this competition on CyberEDU, the cyber range platform designed to benchmark and elevate the skills of modern cybersecurity professionals.

CyberEDU had the distinct privilege of hosting this hybrid CTF specifically designed for critical infrastructure experts and representatives, alongside students from both Moldova and Romania. The competition ultimately challenged over 100 participants who pursued excellence throughout the event.
We moved away from slides and theory to focus on real-world problem-solving. Sharp, seasoned professionals put their skills to the test in a high-pressure environment. The exercise challenged participants across several critical categories:
- web exploitation: identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in web applications;
- reverse engineering: dissecting software to understand its inner workings and security flaws;
- cryptography: solving complex puzzles that protect sensitive data;
- OSINT (Open Source Intelligence): gathering and analyzing publicly available information to identify potential threats.
For the cybersecurity community, such exercises are vital. They expose blind spots and ensure that teams stay sharp in a field that moves faster than any academic curriculum.

A collaborative effort for the future of cybersecurity
As we look toward the remainder of 2026, Bit Sentinel continues to champion the belief that regional cooperation and practical hands-on expertise are the only ways to drive real progress in cybersecurity.
Ultimately, true cyber resilience is not built in isolation. It requires shared knowledge, continuous active testing, and cross-border unity. Together, we are building a robust digital ecosystem ready to detect, defend, and defeat the advanced threats of tomorrow.
