DefCamp 2025 once again proved why it remains one of the most influential cybersecurity conferences in Eastern Europe – and Bit Sentinel was proud to be right at the heart of it. As long-time supporters of the cybersecurity ecosystem, our participation this year reflected not just a commitment to innovation, but a deep belief that progress comes from empowering people, sharing knowledge, and giving back to the community that fuels our industry.
Championing cyber resilience through education
A highlight of this year’s edition was the panel “Building Cyber Resilience Through Education,” where Florina Avadanei, Strategy & Business Development Manager at Bit Sentinel and CEO of CyberEDU, joined other respected voices to discuss one of the most pressing issues in security today: the talent and skills gap.
The panel was moderated by:
- Anca Doce – Senior Cybersecurity Manager, The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate
Panelists included:
- Cristian Patachia-Sultanoiu – Development & Innovation Manager, Orange Romania
- Florina Avadanei – CEO, CyberEDU
- Maksim Iavich – Professor, Head of Cyber Security Direction & Director at the Cyber Security Center, Caucasus University
- Razvan Rughinis – Professor and Deputy Dean, University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest
Florina spoke about how education is not just a stepping-stone into cybersecurity – it is the backbone of resilience. She emphasized the need for accessible learning paths, hands-on training programs, and strong collaboration between industry, academia, and community-led initiatives.
Her message was clear: to defend tomorrow’s digital world, we must invest in people today.
The panel shed light on impactful educational programs such as UNbreakable Romania created in collaboration with Orange Romania, and how we can collectively cultivate the next generation of cyber professionals. It was an inspiring discussion that reinforced our long-standing mission to help shape the future of cyber talent development.
Supporting the DCTF Finals: celebrating excellence in cyber skills
This year, Bit Sentinel continued its tradition of supporting the DefCamp Capture the Flag (DCTF) Finals, one of the most prestigious CTF competitions in the region – and a global magnet for elite cybersecurity talent. The entire competition was fully hosted on the CyberEDU platform, enabling teams from around the world to experience a secure, reliable, and high-performance technical environment designed specifically for hands-on cybersecurity challenges.
Dozens of leading teams from around the world battled fiercely to solve complex, real-world challenges ranging from exploitation and reverse engineering to forensics and cryptography. Their creativity, persistence, and technical mastery were a powerful reminder of why practical competitions are essential for building real-world security capabilities.

Being part of the DCTF is more than sponsoring an event – it’s about empowering learning through action, celebrating skill, and creating opportunities for future cyber defenders to grow.
Why this matters: Community, Responsibility & the Future of Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity is a collective effort. No single company, team, or expert can tackle its challenges alone. That’s why events like DefCamp are so crucial – they bring people together, spark collaboration, and accelerate innovation.
At Bit Sentinel, we believe firmly in:
- Giving back to the community that has shaped our journey
- Supporting or creating competitions, conferences, and educational programs that foster growth
- Encouraging knowledge-sharing and mentorship
- Contributing actively to a stronger global cybersecurity ecosystem
Our presence at DefCamp 2025 reinforces this commitment. Whether through speaking engagements, talent-building initiatives like CyberEDU, our ongoing support for the D-CTF, or the additional competitions we organized – including the hands-on hardware hacking challenge “Null Your Warranty Village” and the offensive security experience “Target John” – we are dedicated to lifting up the entire community, because when the community grows, we all grow.
Looking ahead
DefCamp 2025 was a powerful reminder of the passion and brilliance defining the cybersecurity world. We are proud to stand alongside those who work every day to make the digital world safer.
As we move forward, Bit Sentinel will continue investing in education, supporting cybersecurity talent, and contributing to initiatives that strengthen our collective resilience.
Together, we can build a stronger, more secure future.
