Bit Sentinel is involved in the ECYBRIDGE project to strengthen the cooperation between defence and civilian cybersecurity

Cybersecurity is no longer just a concern for big companies; cybercriminals have become more powerful and skilled in today’s digital world. Relying on isolated cybersecurity measures is not enough to deal with the common threats and vulnerabilities we face. This is why the civilian and defense sectors, already closely connected, must work together to tackle these challenges. In response, European countries understand that now, more than ever, they need a strong, coordinated defense strategy.

To meet this need, fostering strong partnerships and close collaboration between the public and private sectors is crucial. ECYBRIDGE, a project funded by the European Commission and coordinated by Constanța Maritime University, has been established to strengthen cybersecurity cooperation between civil organizations, defense institutions, and research bodies.

Bit Sentinel is part of the ECYBRIDGE consortium

At Bit Sentinel, we are proud to be an active participant in the ECYBRIDGE project, alongside 16 other notable entities, including the “Carol I” National Defence University, the “Ferdinand I” Military Technical Academy, the Euro-Atlantic Resilience Center, Safetech Innovations, ICI Bucharest, the Center of Excellence for Maritime Cyber Security, The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate, The Cyber Security Excellence Cluster, Cyber Dacians, Infili Technologies SA, ARASEC, Beia Consult International, InnovX and many others.

Bit Sentinel ECYBRIDGE

As a member of the ECYBRIDGE consortium, Bit Sentinel is committed to advancing the EU cybersecurity landscape by sharing expertise and solutions that address the increasing complexity of cyber threats.

What is the ECYBRIDGE initiative?

The ECYBRIDGE initiative is a forward-thinking project designed to create a unified cybersecurity framework for the European Union by fostering collaboration between civilian and defense sectors. It addresses key cybersecurity challenges that affect both areas, ensuring a coordinated response to emerging cyber threats.

By promoting innovation and continuous learning, ECYBRIDGE connects diverse stakeholders – from civil society to defense agencies – to improve communication and resource sharing. The initiative facilitates joint efforts through knowledge exchanges, events, and strategic analysis to align cybersecurity strategies and policies across the EU.

Through collaborative activities, training, and networking, ECYBRIDGE strengthens Europe’s cybersecurity infrastructure, supporting the digital transformation of its security, economy, and society. This initiative is vital to achieving the EU’s broader goal of creating a digitally secure and resilient future.

Key outcomes of ECYBRIDGE

ECYBRIDGE is built around several core objectives, essential to achieving its mission:

  1. Policies and strategies: ECYBRIDGE aims to turn research and knowledge into practical policies, reducing the gap between civilian and defense expertise and decision-making. The project contributes to the EU’s long-term policy objectives by aligning its outcomes with larger EU initiatives, ensuring lasting impact on cybersecurity efforts across both sectors.
  2. Knowledge sharing: the initiative is building a network that links important stakeholders from the civilian and defense sectors, making information sharing and collaboration easier. ECYBRIDGE is implementing a solid strategy to spread valuable knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to all relevant parties.
  3. Engaging stakeholders through events:
  • hosting major international events to promote discussions between academics, professionals, and policymakers on important cybersecurity topics.
  • organizing interactive sessions to encourage dialogue and exchange insights on emerging cybersecurity challenges and solutions.
  • offering specialized training to enhance skills and prepare both civilian and defense participants to handle cyber threats effectively.
